Becky and Dale are lovely, lovely people, and I was very much looking forward to their wedding at The Morritt.
The Morritt Hotel at Greta Bridge off the A66 between Scotch Corner and Penrith is an old coaching inn and is one of the few larger wedding venues for many miles around and attracts brides and grooms and their families from both sides of the Pennines to celebrate their weddings every year.
Great location, lovely gardens and ceremony room and wonderful food means that this is an ever popular wedding venue for the discerning bride and groom
Becky and Dale contacted me about 18 months prior to their wedding, and despite being confident, good looking people, they knew they would feel a lot more comfortable on their wedding day without worrying about wedding photography or wedding photographers.
They didn't want to be dragged away for hours on end to pose for endless photographs of them both, and have endless family photographs - they just wanted to have a great day of celebration, a party, to mark their wedding and commitment to each other - and after doing their research on wedding photographers in the North east and North Yorkshire, and reading my reviews - I was the man!

Various emails and facebook messages and over a year later we met up for a pre-wedding chat over some tea and cake and a few photographs, meaning we were not strangers on the day, and, as part of my service, I always do my best to attend your wedding dress rehearsal, a good time to meet up with the best man and bridesmaids and parents too!
On the day, I was at Becky's mums house early and the first thing she showed me was the locket around her bouquet with the photograph of her father who had passed some years ago - a lovely touch to make sure he was part of the day of celebration.
Her brother Scott flew from Australia to give her away, which gave her great comfort. All was relaxed and chilled out, as with all of my brides, and the 90 minutes or so I was there was full of happiness and excitement - particularly from the youngest bridesmaids who were singing and dancing around the house!

Becky's Stephanie Allin couture wedding gown was stunning, and perfect for her fabulous figure - she was going to blow Dale's socks off when he saw her at the church! Space was tight, but all was happy as she pulled on her wedding dress at the top of the stairs and had a smile a mile wide!
Before I departed, we had some time to capture a few family photographs and the bridesmaids with Becky, who after a few glasses of Bellini cocktails was ready for her wedding!
At St Mary The Virgin Church at Norton, Stockton on Tees, Dale and his best man Micky were pretending to be cool, calm and relaxed, but there was definitely a few nerves between them, while the Reverend Martin Anderson - a top man - was as calm as I was, apart from calling Micky, Ricky a few times - a comedy gold!
The bridesmaids and Becky all arrived in good time, and Dale's face was a picture as he saw Becky coming towards him - a dream!

All went well, the kiss, the rings, the whole ceremony was lovely and before long we were in the winter light outside the church with lots of kisses and cuddles, backslaps and handshakes!
there was time for a few quick portraits of the happy couple before we all headed off for the 40 minute trip to The Morritt Hotel and Spa off the A66 near Greta Bridge for the wedding reception.

The rain started as we arrived at the hotel - sod's law - but inside was bright and cheerful, as ever from the Morritt staff, and we had time for the bride and groom and their closest family and friends to chill out and enjoy their time together.
I gathered some close family together 15 minutes before the speeches so we could keep parents and grandparents happy, then a fine set of speeches came along, with the best man Micky standing on a milk crate (as he was told he should be standing on one when Dale was best man at his wedding!), he brought the house down with his recollections, a brilliant best mans speech! The food at the Morritt is always worth enjoying (thanks folks!) and was very well received as always by Becky and Dale's many guests.

Afterwards, I worked with Becky's mum and family and Dale's parents to gather a few more family memories together before the evening guests started arriving and Becky and Dale cut their cake before having their first dance.
A quick photo of Becky and I together for my Facebook weddings page then I made my thanks for their hospitality and headed off home for the hour long drive.
A GREAT day for Becky and Dale - now honeymooning in New Zealand and Tahiti !!
I hope you have enjoyed this Sneak Peek of their wedding photographs, once they have returned from their honeymoon and enjoyed all their photographs, they will distribute the passwords and you can view all their photographs HERE in a few weeks!
