TIME FOR A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE INTIMATE WEDDING PARTY ON THE DECK OF HMS TRINCOMALEE IN HARTLEPOOL
Getting married onboard one of the oldest warships afloat is wedding venue you will never forget, but HMS Trincomalee, situated in a dock at Hartlepool Historic Quay on the north east coast of England, is one such venue.
She was built in 1817 and was restored to her full glory as part of the creation of Hartlepool Marina in the 1990's and is now a proud centrepiece for the town which has just hosted the Tall Ships races with over 1 million visitors.
I photographed Sue and Derek's small intimate wedding on board, and it was the first wedding in 14 years where the wedding breakfast was served in the captain's Cabin - because there were less than 20 people in the party.
The catering and food was fantastic, and Sue and Derek will never forget their special Valentine's Day wedding on board HMS Trincomalee.
The happy couple have wrote to me on their return from their honeymoon in Mexico, to thank me:

"... If you are reading this testimony, I imagine it's because you want to engage a wedding photographer and are considering Dirk for the role.
Look no further. Either by good fortune, recommendation, or testimonies such as this, you have found one of the very best. Sign him up quickly and then relax in the knowledge that your special occasion is in good hands!
Susan and I engaged Dirk for our Valentine's Day wedding on board the historic frigate HMS Trincomalee and we were won over by both his professionalism and creativity - and especially his open and friendly demeanour. We really were overjoyed when he agreed to take on our small intimate wedding.
One look at his website and BLOG will tell you that he is no ordinary photographer and certainly not a 'standard' wedding photographer.
If you want stiffly posed photographs that eat up your special day, I'm sure he could turn his hand to that, but neither Dirk or we had that in mind.
We asked Dirk to capture the essence of the wedding celebrations, the fun and the laughter and the love.
We welcomed Dirk as a guest, a member of the family if you will, and he was with us from the start to the end, and he also joined us for dinner. Apart from being great company, he also succeeded in taking great photographs - mostly without the subjects being aware.
The result is a most magnificent A3 wedding book full of more than 160 top class wedding photographs - the best we have ever seen!
We saw the early results on his BLOG and a private website which showed usa ll the photographs, while we were on honeymoon in Mexico.
Dirk is a photographer of course, a brilliant photographer .. but he brings so much more to your wedding day experience.

Sign him up now, be happy and relax...."
