YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH A BIG CAMERA IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THIS ENTHUSIASTC DANCING!
I was thrilled to be a part of Rohini and Ricky's Indian wedding at the Newcastle Gosforth Marriott Hotel, the second part of their spectacular wedding celebrations following their civil ceremony in Nottingham, their 'engagement' a few weeks ago.
Two changes of dress for the bride last time was swapped with two changes of suits for the groom this time, add to that a traditional white horse, spectacular make-up, colour, music, a beautiful sunny day, guests from around the world, amazing food, a bride that blew away her guests with her beauty and the madest, badest dancing you will ever see at any wedding.
It was great to catch up with the happy couple again, four weeks after their first wedding and two weeks after their pre-wedding portrait session on the beach at Whitley Bay .. they're so made for each other.
Rohini was much more chilled out than for her first wedding when nerves got the better of her at times, and was chatting away to me as ace make-up artist Rehana was already an hour into her make-up, and I told her not to look out of the hotel window as I spotted her Uncle and friends putting a big pink bow around a new VW Beetle outside!
Ricky was due from Nottingham shortly and I headed to the car park where the white horse for his spectacular entrace was being prepared, followed closely by coaches with his family and guests from Nottingham and the groom himself in a spectacular traditional outfit in gold and red.
The horse may have been cool as a cucumber as it stood in the blazing sun under blue skies, but Ricky was definitely nervous about his first time on the back of the horse with his nephew Dhilan!
The noisy colourful procession tothe entrace of the hotel was filled with music and dancing before the formals of introducing key members of the family to each other was underway - the men often picking each other up and whirling around in celebration.
The £50 notes pinned to Ricky's chest were for him to 'buy' his way past female members of the family who would 'allow' him into the hotel for his own wedding! There were lots of laughs as he bargained and bluffed his way in.
While the newly arrived guests were tucking into a scumptious Indian buffet, I headed up to the third floor to check how Rohini was getting on.
She already looked spectacular with her gold jewellery and spectacular makeup and traditional facial jewels. Nerves were beginning to tell and she had convinced herself that she was running very late. Rehana and I tried to convince her that Ricky had to wait for her and he wasn't going anywhere else and passed a message from her mum who had told me to tell her "It's alright to be late form your wedding".
I manged a few photographs on her own, before another two photographers came into the room. In total I was one of SIX videographers and photographers from both sides of the family to be documenting the day - that's Asian weddings for you!
The traditional wedding ceremony was enhanced by religious guests from India, and once that was out of the way, Ricky headed off to change into a 'normal' suit for the rest of the celbrations and Rohini headed off to chill in her room for a while.
When they appeared I followed them as they met and greeted their guests from around  the world, and we all managed to grab some more spectacular buffet food which was now on offer.
Eight hours into my day, and the evening celbrations were soon underway with male relatives dancing in the foyer to the band which had appeared from their role earlier in the day with the white horse parade and we were all led into the spectacular huge room at the Gosforth marriott which had been draped and dressed beautifully. The couple's entrance was noisy and happy before they cut their cake, and traditional feeding of the bride and groom was underway by relatives followed by the speeches - with tears and laughter as ever!
The dancefloor was filled with guests after their own first dance with Ricky being hoisted onto the shoulders of hs freinds and the young couple really getting into the  amazing dance music beating out of the speakers
The third meal of the day was now on offer to guests with FORTY THREE options as well as five amazing desserts, chocolate fountains, fruit bars and even a beautiful ice-sculpture bar, but it didnt take long before the dancing started with the party heading off into the early hours.
It was time to leave ..  I said my farewells to close family and guests who had been so hospitable to me, a cuddle for the bride - and then Ricky insisted on taking MY photograph with his new bride!
A BRILLIANT  day for everyone ... such happiness.
Enjoy my sneak peek of their lovely wedding at Gosforth Marriott Hotel , just 30 or so photographs from the final edited 500 images which tells the story of their day.
