Jennifer and Simon's wedding at Easdon Village and Tynemouth Grand Hotel was such a great day for their family and closest friends.
Simon has often been onboard a survey ship in Antarctica recently and Jennifer is jetting around the world as an engineer, so it was good to see them both together for their wedding day!
We met up in Scarborough for their pre-wedding portraits, a place of childhood memories for Jennifer, and we were back to the seaside for her wedding in the north east of England a few weeks later.
Jennifer and Simon's home was a scene of calm and serenity, though it was a bit odd seeing one of their cats sitting in the sink trying to catch water from the tap, and as much as I would have loved to have joined her and her Mum Anne with their offer of a glass of champagne, I was here to work and to capture the fun and happiness of the day as it all came together.
Bridesmaids were already on site and another one arrvived shortly after me after travelling from York.
Jennifer's Maggie Sottero dress was still hanging in the kitchen after the girls had been boiling pans of water to help steam the few creases away the previous evening - and what a dress!
Mum Anne was helping out all the way, and there was an audible gasp from the bridesmaids when they first saw Jennifer with her dress on.
Then it was off to the lovely old church in Easdon Village to meet Simon and the boys who were busy meeting and greeting guests from all over the country - and they didn't have too long to wait as Jennifer was EARLY!
That doesn't happen too often in my life!
Jennifer and her Mum made sure her lovely dress was immaculate as she entered the church, then Jennifer was led down the aisle by her Chief Bridesmaid, and her Mum 'gave her away' - proudly to Simon.
The service was soon over and we exited the church to dark leaden skies and rain .....  boo!
We decided that a session of family photographs near the church should be abandoned along with a trip to St Mary's Lighthouse too - so it was straight on to the Grand Hotel at Tynemouth, where, as soon as we were settled - the sun came out! Sod's Law of course.
When we sat down for our wedding breakfast (thanks folks!), a double rainbow appeared outside the window, which confirmed to us all of course the Simon and Jennifer's wedding was blessed!
Everyone agreed that the speeches were really good, and beforer coffee and biscuits we decamped to the beach in the last dark 15 minutes before darkness enveloped us, as Jennifer had brought her wellies and wanted to paddle in the sea!
Simon and many of the rest of the party joined her on the beach, and with plenty of fresh air and fun inside us, we headed back for the evening celebrations and their first dance!
A great wedding day for Jennifer and Simon and their closest friends and relatives!

Rockliffe Hall is a fabulous 5 star wedding venue on the borders of County Durham and North Yorkshire and has become very popular very quickly with discerning brides and grooms to be.
The next Rockliffe Hall Wedding Showcase is on 24th March 2013 12pm - 4pm when the dedicated wedding team from Rockliffe Hall will be on hand to show off the beautiful wedding facilities while you enjoy a glass of bubbly and canapés.
Guest numbers from just 10 to 150 can be catered for in a number of wedding spaces including The Rockliffe Suite with an abundance of natural daylight, stylish decor and an outdoor terrace leading into landscaped gardens where I photographed Elizabeth and Wayne's wedding recently.
The Old Hall Arches, Morning Room and Campernella provide a glamorous setting against many of the original features of the 18th Century Hall, including the magnificent stained glass staircase, beautiful hand carved ornate stone arches and many original pieces such as the ornate marble fireplace and for smaller more intimate weddings of up to 30 guests our bespoke Old Hall Wedding Experience created by Michelin starred Chef Kenny Atkinson provides the perfect choice. 
You can of course meet many of Rockliffe Hall's many preferred suppliers during day including Miranda Marie Bridal of Yarm - showing a fabulous selection of wedding dresses and gowns!

I first met Stephanie at a wedding where she was the hair and make-up artist for the bride to be, then a few weeks later I met her again, doing the same for one of my other brides.

So it was lovely to meet her for a third time in  a few months when her daughter was a flower girl at another wedding where I was the official photographer - it seems we were feted to come together again for her wedding at Rockliffe Hall!
Steph has two beautiful young daughters, and her own beauty business, so she's a busy lady, and her fiancee Daniel often works abroad, so for them to pull the wedding together as quickly as they did was wonderful compared to the time many other brides have.
Rockliffe Hall is a stunning 5 star wedding venue to the south of Darlington and is a fast-rising star in the world of weddings in the north of England with couples choosing it from far and wide as their choice of venue for a very special wedding celebration.
I met with Steph at her own salon mid-morning, where she prepared the hair for her own bridesmaids - no pressure then!
Later we headed off to Christabel N Keats to collect her bespoke (and amazing) Ronald Joyce wedding gown in powder pink. It was a dress only someone with the confidence, the beauty and the figure of someone like Steph could carry off - and she did so with style!
When I arrived at Rockliffe Hall for the late afternoon wedding, Daniel and 'the boys' were checking in, and he looked cool as a cucumber - no nerves at all, but I could tell he was dying to catch sight of Steph and his two daughters.
Steph and I were alone in her room for 15 minutes as I photographed her shoes and tiara, flowers and perfume and we chatted away I could feel her deep love for Daniel and she was so excited about her wedding ceremony, but feared a few tears would flow - she wasn't wrong!
Her father started it off as he arrived to escort her to the ceremony and saw her in her wedding dress for the first time, and between the two of them, there were plenty of happy tears during the ceremony too.
With the ceremony so late in the day, there was just a chance to get a quick group shot or two as the temperature dropped quickly as well as the light, but Steph and Daniel and their parents and friends were all more concerned with a great day of celebration, so we were quickly back inside and I 'mopped up' various group shots and some nice formal portraits of their closest friends and relatives as the evening progressed.
SpeecheS were fun and entertaining, then it was time for the first dance and the characturist Mike Giblin added to the happiness and fun of the day.
It was a great relaxed day of celebrations which fitted in very well with  the way I photograph weddings, in a relaxed, informal manner, with no pressure, no stress and happiness all the way -  a great young couple.
