SMALL INTIMATE WEDDING IN NORTH YORKSHIRE .. AND THE FIRST DANCE UNDERWAY
Ellie and Steve wanted a small, intimate wedding in her home village of Moorsholm in North Yorkshire - a day of fun and happiness and celebration - and that's exactly what  they had!
They booked me to photograph their wedding only a few months before which is unusual, but they were adamant that they wanted to enjoy their day, but have a great photographic record of their closest family and friends having a great time.
They wanted a true record of their day, without being dragged away for 'photographs' or having a photographer being a disruption.
I promised that I would enhance their wedding day, not detract from it, but capture a series of lovely photographs showing the fun and happiness of their wedding.
Steve's family come from around Essex, the Essex massive as I called them, and they were a huge load of fun wheras Ellie's family and friends were all from the small village of Moorsholm (Where I photographed Jayne and Stephen's wedding 18 months before .. HERE) but they all got on like a house on fire.
The plans were for Ellie to get ready at her family home, then pop along the road to the church for the wedding, back up the road the family home for drinks and canapes before heading back into the village on foot to the community centre for the wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing.
I met with Ellie as she was having her make-up and hair done, Natalie Crawford for the second wedding in a row after she had completed Victoria's wedding make-up too.
Ellie's father was still busy getting things right outside the house, where, with the help of the weather gods, we would be able to enjoy the sunshine in the garden.
Photographs of Ellie's fab Maggie Sottero gown and various other important bits and bobs meant that after I had photographed her with Mum and dad and with her sister Georgina too I could head off to the church to meet with the Essex Massive and see how Steve was doing.
He was definitely nervous, but greeted me warmly as guests alighted from the bus that had brought them all from Whitby where most of them were staying.
The service went smoothly and by the time we got outside, the sun was out, a true bonus after the awful weather this past three months, and indeed it stayed out much of the day.
Back to Ellie's parents house for some relaxed drinks on the lawn, a few family photographs for the record books and then off to the community centre for a delicious three course meal by Lillies Catering - thank you for your hospitality!
Speeches were short and sweet - and in the case of Ellie's father, hugely entertaining, so there was time for a few photographs of Ellie and Steve together for the first time, then Ellie decided she needed of photograph of Larry ...  Larry the Llama .. so off we went to the fields to make sure we had a photograph of Larry!
Time for the first dance and the rest of the evening, and there was a collective 'Aaawww' as the happy couple took to the dancefloor!
Time for a few shots of people throwing shapes and catch up with a few quick family record shots, then it was time for me to head home and catch up with my wife and daughter!
Great day of celebration for Ellie and Steve and their families, I hope you think my Sneak Peek gives a flavour of their day!
See all their photographs HERE - but ask Ellie or Steve for the passwords after Friday.
If you would like me to be the photographer to capture your great day of family celebration, naturally then ring me now ON 0778 7150966 and check your date as I only photograph a limited amount of weddings each year - I never want it to be a production line!

AS WELL AS THE BRIDE AND GROOM'S FIRST DANCE .. THERE WAS A SPECIAL FIRST DANCE FOR THE LITTLE PEOPLE!

... AND MUM'S AND DAD'S WERE ALLOWED TO HELP OUT FOR THE FIRST DANCE FOR THE CHILDREN TOO!
Wynyard Golf Club was the perfect wedding venue for Victoria and Simon.
They had looked around many other venues in the north east - some of them very grand, but they just knew they wanted something a little more relaxed and less formal - and that's what they got, with a great relaxed wedding day, full of happiness and laughter with their children Toby and Harriett and their parents and grandparent and closest friends.
Simon and Victoria booked me over 2 years before their wedding - they knew what they wanted in photography before they knew what they wanted from a wedding venue, because I was booked for an entirely different location originally!
They knew they wanted relaxed, natural photography without being dragged away from their family and friends, but sure that I would capture the spirit and the fun of the day and liase with parnts and grandparents so we still managed to get those important group shots in the bag, without anyone really knowing that we did!
It is possible!
We had a lot of fun on Victoria and Simon's pre-wedding portait shoot with their children and I knew that would continue on their wedding day.
It was nice to meet with their parents at the dress rehersal at Hart Village Church, St Mary Magdeline,  two days before, one of the oldest churches in the north east of England.
Victoria was really chilled out and relaxed as she had her make-up completed by the lovely Tallie Crawford, a model who is also a make-up expert, and she helped keep Victoria calm too while Victoria's adorable daughter Harriett was a veritable whirlwind and just wanted to get into her bridesmaid dress - she was soooo excited!
Victoria's wedding gown was sensational and it was just s'o her', and I had time to gather some lovely relaxed family images of her and her sister and father and mother fogether with her daughter before I headed off to Hart Village church to meet up with Simon and the rest of the guests.
The beautiful service was a pleasure to be a part of, then it was literally a quick  dash after the bride and groom left the church as the heavens opened up!
No worries, we still managed a quick confetti shot before we piled into cars and coaches and headed off 6 miles down the road to Wynyard Golf Club for some celebration beveridges and some canapes!
The dark brooding skies were the exact opposite of the atmosphere inside, where laughter an dfun were the order of the day - with 'John Cleese' making a personal appearence and conducting party games before the speeches got under way after a fine wedding breakfast (thanks folks .. ) from ther Wynyard Golf Club catering staff.
It truly was a family led fun day of celebration for Simon and Victoria and their children, and before the evening guests turned up, there was a break in the weather - time to gather close family for some quick relaxed family groups to remember their day, and I 'borrowed' the bride and groom for ten minutes so they had a little time on their own and for me to capture some smashing photographs of them together as well!
Time to cut the cake and for the first dance too, and for the first time ever, there was first dance too for the children - One Direction - which went down very well with all the guests to be honest!
The fun and the laughter was continuing as I said my farewells and thanks for hospitality to the bride and groom and their lovely families .. and headed off home to collapse!
I hope you enjoy their Sneak Peek of photographs, see all their photographs HERE - ask the bride and groom for the passwords! SEE RUTH AND MARTIN'S WEDDING AT WYNYARD GOLF CLUB HERE
