SMALL INTIMATE WEDDING IN NORTH YORKSHIRE .. AND THE FIRST DANCE UNDERWAY |
They booked me to photograph their wedding only a few months before which is unusual, but they were adamant that they wanted to enjoy their day, but have a great photographic record of their closest family and friends having a great time.
They wanted a true record of their day, without being dragged away for 'photographs' or having a photographer being a disruption.
I promised that I would enhance their wedding day, not detract from it, but capture a series of lovely photographs showing the fun and happiness of their wedding.
Steve's family come from around Essex, the Essex massive as I called them, and they were a huge load of fun wheras Ellie's family and friends were all from the small village of Moorsholm (Where I photographed Jayne and Stephen's wedding 18 months before .. HERE) but they all got on like a house on fire.
The plans were for Ellie to get ready at her family home, then pop along the road to the church for the wedding, back up the road the family home for drinks and canapes before heading back into the village on foot to the community centre for the wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing.
I met with Ellie as she was having her make-up and hair done, Natalie Crawford for the second wedding in a row after she had completed Victoria's wedding make-up too.
Ellie's father was still busy getting things right outside the house, where, with the help of the weather gods, we would be able to enjoy the sunshine in the garden.
Photographs of Ellie's fab Maggie Sottero gown and various other important bits and bobs meant that after I had photographed her with Mum and dad and with her sister Georgina too I could head off to the church to meet with the Essex Massive and see how Steve was doing.
He was definitely nervous, but greeted me warmly as guests alighted from the bus that had brought them all from Whitby where most of them were staying.
The service went smoothly and by the time we got outside, the sun was out, a true bonus after the awful weather this past three months, and indeed it stayed out much of the day.
Back to Ellie's parents house for some relaxed drinks on the lawn, a few family photographs for the record books and then off to the community centre for a delicious three course meal by Lillies Catering - thank you for your hospitality!
Speeches were short and sweet - and in the case of Ellie's father, hugely entertaining, so there was time for a few photographs of Ellie and Steve together for the first time, then Ellie decided she needed of photograph of Larry ... Larry the Llama .. so off we went to the fields to make sure we had a photograph of Larry!
Time for the first dance and the rest of the evening, and there was a collective 'Aaawww' as the happy couple took to the dancefloor!
Time for a few shots of people throwing shapes and catch up with a few quick family record shots, then it was time for me to head home and catch up with my wife and daughter!
Great day of celebration for Ellie and Steve and their families, I hope you think my Sneak Peek gives a flavour of their day!
See all their photographs HERE - but ask Ellie or Steve for the passwords after Friday.
If you would like me to be the photographer to capture your great day of family celebration, naturally then ring me now ON 0778 7150966 and check your date as I only photograph a limited amount of weddings each year - I never want it to be a production line!
