Hartlepool Wedding Photography at the Historic Quay with the wedding breakfast in a beautiful marquee sounds wonderful - and it was with Amira and David!
They are such a happy couple together, a perfect match and after we met the first time I knew we were a perfect fit.
They wanted totally relaxed wedding photography, capturing the essence and atmosphere and fun of their wedding celebrations, with a nod to parents and grandparents and the images they needed from the day as well.

I had known Amira's father Mohamed as an acquaintance for more than 20+ years, he is a Consultant Gynaecologist and was a pioneer of fertility and 'test-tube babies' in the North East of England and I photographed him many times when I worked on newspapers.
Last year I bumped into him again at his friend's wedding, even though we are also close neighbours and he and his wife Carol asked me for my card .. and so I was booked!

I met with David and Amira at the Historic Quay on the Friday before their Sunday wedding, just to check out the location and to catch up, as they were so busy we hadn't time for a pre-wedding shoot.
There was rather a shock when we arrived as the front of the building was covered in scaffolding - something they hadnb't been told about, the room they were to be married in looked out over HMS Trincomalee, the second oldest warship afloat in the world, and all they could see was scaffolding through grey dusty windows.
thinking on their feet, they cancelled the ceremony room upstairs, arranged for the ceremony to be downstairs and organised their brothers and sisters and friends to 'decorate' the new ceremony room and drape black and white (the theme colours) around the scaffolding poles outside!
Heroes to the rescue!

On the day, Amira and her friends were very chilled out, while family and friends helped out around the house and in the gardens where the marquee was now set up and looking quite lovely.
The weather was amazing. W hardly had a summer last year, winter seemed to drag on for months longer than normal and then we have 'enjoyed' a very cool spring. Today however, was beautiful blue skies and sunshine. Hurrah!

Once Amira had put on her beautiful Maggie Sottero wedding gown, time was a little tight, so it was  aquick dash to the LoveDub open-top VW and Camper van to take the ladies and Amira and her father to the Historic Quay.
Time for some quick photographs as they enter the Quayside and head into meet with David.
He and his father, who was also his best man, together with 150 guests had been kept waiting for 12 minutes, but there were huge smiles all round as first the bridesmaids and then Amira and Mohamed walked down the aisle to greet David.

There were a few tears, mainly from the guests, but soon the register was signed and we were outside for a quick group shot, and a few photographs on board with the bridesmaids and groomsmen before heading off to the marquee at Amira's family home.
The sun still shone brightly and continued to do so for the rest of the relaxed day of celebrations. Champagne and canapes in the garden, then inside the marquee for a wonderful meal followed by (long) speeches which were highly amusing and at times embarrassing - as expected!
After the speeches, the evening guests were starting to arrive, so it was time to capture some relaxed images of guests and family before the first dance got underway some 9hours after the wedding ceremony.
by this time, I was starting to flag, so after a few more images of family and friends relaxing and enjoying themselves, I bade farewell to the principal guests and wished Happy Honeymoon to Davd and Amira who were heading off to Cape Verde a few days later, and I headed off home!
GREAT day for Amira and David and their closest family and friends!
