| EVERYONE JOINS I TO MAKE A BRIGHT END TO A DAY OF CELEBRATION AT AIMMEE AND ADAM'S YORKSHIRE DALES WEDDING! |
They are such a lovely couple so after our initial meeting some 9 months or so ago it was great to catch up with them when I travelled to Skipton for our pre-wedding meeting and some nice relaxed portraits. The plan, 4 weeks later, was to capture as much of the wedding with their closest family and friends as naturally as possible.
I travelled down and stayed at a hotel in Skipton the night before so I was already 'on site' in case of problems with the A1 or A59 on the day. I met with Aimee and her family and Adam's parents and sister at an evening meal in the famous Wooly Sheep and was with her and her bridesmaids as they were getting ready the next day.
The room was pretty 'tight' but the girls were great fun and I captured some nice moments as things came together, even when we had a small problem with Aimee's stunning Justin Alexander wedding dress and a zip split on one of the bridesmaid dresses!
I came in handy too, transporting wedding gifts to the venue, and later, guests to the reception!
Craigmar is a lovely home and wedding venue, high on the hills above Hebden. The owner Chloe told me they hold about 15 weddings a year there, the idea being sparked by her sister who was married there.
Adam looked less nervous than I thought he would, and was desperate to see Aimee who was in a camper van from Liberty Campers just coming up the drive with her bridesmaids while her dad waited patiently for the guests to move rooms so we could get in the house safely without anyone seeing Aimee or the girls!
Adam and Aimee's faces lit up as they caught sight of each other and it was smiles all the way until their first kiss as man and wife!
We had about an hour or so at Craigmar for drinks and mingling, so that's what I like to happen, it makes for some lovely relaxed images and then we took 10 minutes out to capture some photographs for their parents, a quick confetti shot as a nod to tradition with some quick photographs of the bride and groom in the gardens as the rain which had threatened most of the morning arrived with a flourish.
By the time we all decamped to The Cruck Barn at The Craven Arms at Appletreewick just three miles away the rain was torrential, and didn't really let up until just before I left.
The Cruck Barn is a lovely thatched roof location in the Dales that serves great food and beer and is ideal for a smaller wedding - and so different!
Once inside, away from the torrential rain, we enjoyed a lovely wedding breakfast (thanks folks!) and the speeches really were top class, bridesmaid in tears and rounds of loud applause after each one.
One of the two best men took the lead with the music as the evening celebrations started and the first dance received another large round of applause, before we dashed outside for some sparklers fun as darkness gripped the dale.
The night was still young as I headed off the 15 miles or so in the dark to Skipton, then onto Harrogate and away home - what a great day it had been for Aimee and Adam!
