They are close to home, so there's little travel involved compared to many I shoot, and it's one of the finest wedding venues in the north of England too - a great combination.
Samantha and Michael fell in love with the place, and it's not far from their own family homes in Hartlepool, even though they now live and work in the North West of England. They're a fine young couple full of happiness and hope for the future with a great network of supporting families and friends.
They first met with me at a wedding fair at the historical country house hotel, and after a meeting later at Sami's parent's house, we all seemed to gel and we were up and running!
Cue 16 months later and we were together again at Wynyard Hall for afternoon tea and a stroll on the banks of the lake in the grounds, 'bonding' a little a few weeks before their wedding day so that on the day, we were not strangers and everyone could relax.
I was at Samantha's parent's home good and early on the day and all was relaxed, VERY relaxed. Once she was back from the hairdresser there were presents to open from Michael .. including another pair of Louboutin shoes in addition to the pair she was wearing for the day! There was an emotional moment between Mum and daughter after Sami gave her mum Gail a present .. tears all round!
The girls assembled in their dressing gowns for a few quick photographs before the serious business of getting ready to get married got under way!
the colours of the bridesmaid dresses were perfect for a beautiful summer's wedding at Wynyard Hall - even though we had some intermittent rain, nothing was to spoil Michael and Samantha's day!
Once Sami was in her beautiful dress, I had a few minutes to capture some images with her parents - and 'the girls' before I headed off to Wynyard Hall to catch up with Michael - and say good morning to the vicar conducting the ceremony in the beautiful Wynyard Chapel.
michael was calm, cool and confident - looking forward to the moment he saw Sami as she came down the aisle towards him - and he didn't have long to wait!
She looked stunning as she stepped out of the Beaufort car with her father Les and joined the bridesmaids on the short walk to the chapel.
It was beaming smiles all round as their eyes met and they both beamed all day!
Back in the sunshine there was a flurry of confetti, before we headed to the Statue gallery for some canapes and champagne. For an hour or more they enjoyed getting into the spirit of their day along with their parents and friends, then I borrowed them for 15 minutes to keep parents and grandparents happy with some nice relaxed family groups before we headed in for speeches and superb food (thank you for your hospitality folks!).
The duo of best men pulled of a corker of a speech involving the word 'Bangor' and had everyone in hoots of laughter after a fine speech my Les and a long and entertaining one from Michael - tears and laughter is a good mix at a wedding!
Afterwards, I borrowed the happy couple for 20 minutes to have a wander and get some photographs with an amazing award winning Ferrari that a family friend had lent to Michael for a few days .. what a car!
I later followed Michael and Sami as they went upstairs to prepare themselves for their evening guests - and Michael was to surprise them all by turning up for his first dance with Sami in a tuxedo - he looked the business!
Cake cutting and first dance out of the way - it was headlong into party time!
I said my farewells and thanks for hospitality to the parents of both, and offered a manly handshake to Michael and a big hug and a kiss for Samantha and headed off into the night with the sounds of happiness still in the air!
I love my job!
