DURHAM CASTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY REVIEW: JULIE AND GARY

DURHAM CASTLE WEDDING AND NORTH EAST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY REVIEW:
GARY AND JULIE DANCING AT DURHAM CASTLE AFTER THEIR WEDDING
NORTH EAST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER REVIEW:

" .... We first saw Dirk's work when we saw his photographs on a friend's Facebook page. This was before we were even engaged.
When I saw the photographs I said  "Dirk is amazing" and that if we ever got married we wanted him to be our wedding photographer!
When we became engaged we still wanted to use Dirk, but we had a look at a few different photographers at wedding fairs 'just in case' but I was always comparing them to Dirk photographs.
I looked on his website and the photographs actually brought tears to my eyes and were just what we wanted, he captured natural images that really seemed to capture the emotion of the day, which to us was what it was all about. We didn't want loads of fake posed pictures which lots of other photographers offered.
Dirk was very helpful from day one. He travelled to see us for a chat and from that moment he made us both feel relaxed and he kept in touch all the time, and our pre wedding photoshoot was great fun. Dirk made it personal and so relaxed.
On the wedding day Dirk made everything so laid back in my parent's house while myself and my mum and the bridesmaids were getting ready. You really didn't feel like there was a photographer in your face all the time but the photos he captured were amazing. There is one photograph in particular of my mum in the mirror putting her hat on and she didn't even know it was being taken.
He was chatting all day to guests and capturing them at their most relaxed. We're so glad we don't have loads of group photos were people have fake smiles. All of the smiles seem real, and we are SO happy with them all.
Our guests commented on how good he was and my cousin took his number to recommend to a friend.
The after service was great, and when we were on our honeymoon we could view the photographs. We had tears in our eyes looking at them in the airport on our way to the Maldives. They were fabulous....."

Thanks again Dirk, you captured the day perfectly and we would recommend you to anyone.

North East Wedding Photographers photographing weddings in Newcastle, Durham, Hartlepool, Sunderland and Darlington are many and it's very hard for a prospective bride and groom to be to choose.
There are many mixes of styles of wedding photography from all these wedding photographers, from traditional and classic wedding photography as well as reportage wedding photos to documentary wedding approach.
A mix of wedding photography including natural wedding photography while keeping Mum and Dad and Grandparents happy too is probably best for most.
With over 30 years experience as a full time professional photographer, I still think it must be such a difficult task to choose your wedding photographer, but having photographed hundreds of weddings across the north east of England, north Yorkshire  and across the UK and abroad with destination weddings, more and more brides and grooms are looking for relaxed wedding photography - they want a chilled-out day of wedding celebrations, no bother, no hassle, no one stopping and starting and directing their day.
More and more brides and grooms look for an established wedding photographer in the north east and north Yorkshire with an outstanding reputation, superb recent reviews, and lovely wedding photography from each and every wedding, with happiness captured EVERY time.
I am honoured each time a bride and groom - and often their parents after interviewing me, invest a considerable amount of money in having me as part of their wonderful wedding celebrations.
If you would like me to be a small but important part of your wedding, capturing images naturally and becoming a part of your family for the day, ring me now on 0778 7150966 and let me tell you how it all works, and tell me all about your north east wedding celebrations, or CONTACT ME HERE
My latest wedding reviews, recommendations and testomionials  are HERE and HERE, a link  to many of my recent weddings is HERE where you can view a sneak peek of between 25-50 images I created at each and every wedding.
I only photograph a limited amount of weddings each year - I never want my wedding photography in north east England to become a production line, I want to remember and look forward to every one of my brides and grooms and your special day, and after 30 years as a professional photographer, I retain my enthusiasm for every wedding - that says something about my passion for wedding photography in the north east of England.

I first met with Charlotte and Graeme and her parents at their home to chat about their wedding which was booked at The SAS Radisson sparkly new hotel in Durham.
The next time I was met with them, the venue had changed to her mum and dad's home with a grand marquee!
I've photographed a few weddings in the last year which involved some very upmarket marquees, all decked out with soft furnishings and candelabras with fine catering and beautiful flowers, and this was no different - and what a wonderful time all their family and friends had during their day of wedding celebrations.
Charlotte's late Nana, to whom she was very close, always spent a lot of time in the garden and at home and one evening at a family gathering, it was suggested that it would be a great idea to utilise the garden as the wedding venue in her memory - and that was it, all the plans changed and everyone became very focussed.
When I arrived early on the morning, the marquee already looked stunning while Charlotte and her mum and bridesmaids were all still in their dressing gowns, getting their hair and nails and everything else a lady needs to be at their best at a wedding.
So, I did my usual and wandered around chatting and taking photographs which would tell the story of the day and followed Charlotte into the marquee where the flowers and decorations and tables were being assembled by friends of Graeme's family - and she was so impressed she decided it was time to get on her Maggie Sottero wedding gown.
What a stunning sight she was - though we had a good laugh when mum went under the dress to sort out the petticoat!
By now it was time for me to dash to the historic parish Church of St Mary and Cuthbert in Chester le Street and catch up with Graeme. He was pretty chilled out, though he told me later he was very nervous, and I joked that whe he saw Charlotte in her stunning dress coming down the aisle that he might need a paramedic!
So, the bride arrived and swept down the aisle while I was (unfortunately) stuck at the back of the church, a legacy of legions of so called 'wedding photographers' spoiling relationships with the clergy over the last 10 years.
However, with a longer lens I managed to get a few images of the happy couple beaming at each other during the ceremony and the beautiful church interior made a fine photograph.
I captured lots of relaxed shots of family and friends meeting and greeting outside with a few quick family groups in case grandparents flagged a little later in the day when I prefer to arrange some family groups after the wedding breakfast.
Once back at Charlotte's parents house in Rickleton everyone settled in for the day and for the night. The amazing marquee and relaxation areas by Black Cherry Events was a real stunner for guests who had yet to see it and provided a fine canvas for the entertaining speeches and fine food by Ramside Event Catering.
Once Charlotte and Graeme had finished the wedding breakfast, I borrowed them for 10 minutes for some relaxed images of the two of them together away from their friends and relatives.
Charlotte and Graeme are a good looking couple, but like many of my brides and grooms, they are not their happiest in front of a camera, whch is why they booked me as they knew that 95% of the images I create are taken naturally as events unfold. By building a relationship with them and having a pre-wedding shoot a few weeks before the wedding, they were able to relax and listen to my silly jokes and banter as I captured some lovely images of the two of them.
Charlotte had changed into another stunning dress by this time, 'for dancing in' she explained, while Graeme and his dad were knocked for six when the Robert Green spilled the ball (see photograph above) and by then the Hog Roast was well underway and making the guests very hungry indeed.
Time for a few more images before the ceilidh got everyone on their feet and it was time for me to leave after 13 hours on my feet.
Music and laughter were still ringing out as I made my way home for a cheeky beer!
What a great intimate family wedding for Charlotte and Graeme - I hope you enjoy just a few sneak peek photographs from almost 500 which tell the story of the day.
