Nicolle first contacted my after viewing my photography of different weddings I have been part of at Wynyard Hall Country House Hotel here on my BLOG (see the bottom of this post for LINKS).
Living on the Isle of Man, and like many of my brides who live across the UK or even across the world, organising a wedding from afar has not been the easiest option, but the wedding team at Wynyard hall have helped a lot, and their regular trips to see Wayne's family in Aycliffe Village has meant that they have been able to keep an eye on all their plans.
We first met at Wayne's parent's house and later on their most recent visit we walked around a country park and shared a pot of tea, so when it came to their wedding day, we were not strangers, and everyone could really relax and have a great day of celebration.
Nicolle was one of the most chilled out brides ever, and right from early in the day when I arrived, the guests were running a sweepstake to see how late should would be (I guessed 12 minutes late, but those who knew her better scooped the pot with 23 minutes late ... ).
It was only about 12 minutes before her wedding at 1pm that she started to put on her dress after a 'leisurely' time in the spa and having her hair and make-up done! Cool as a cucumber!
Wayne and the other guests waited patiently in the Chapel at Wynyard hall, though it was a pretty warm day.
When she appeared in her beautiful wedding gown with her father, she looked so beautiful that I was convinced that Wayne would need a paramedic when he turned around to see her!
There were comedy moments during the service when the reverend got Nicolle's name wrong, and again when Wayne's twin brother struggled to free the wedding rings from the bows that held them to the box they were in .. but giggles and laughs kept the atmosphere happy and relaxed!
Straight after the service Nicolle and Wayne released two white doves into the dark skies .. how romantic!
Rain was threatening so we took champagne in the statue gallery and managed a quick break outside for 15 minutes before the bride and groom and their guests were called for their wedding breakfast!
Humorous speeches were the order of the day with a superb meal (thanks folks) to follow before we cleared the room to let the staff at Wynyard prepare for the evening's festivities.
This gave us all a chance to chill ouside, which, although the clouds were heavy and the rain threatened, gave us all a chance to chill out, and it was an opportunity to catch up on some quick family groups and a nice full-group shot on the stairs outside the conservatory at Wynyard Hall.
Wayne in particular had never been too keen on having his photograph taken ,but after a few glasses of champagne and encouragement from myself and his family, I think he really quite enjoyed himself - especially as the video crew needed to get plenty of 'walking' footage!
Once we were back inside, family and friends entertained with singing and guitars before the first dance and cutting the cake, with some exciting Serbian dancing to finish of the evening's entertainment!
