IT'S ALWAYS NICE TO RECEIVE TESTIMONIALS FROM BRIDES AND GROOMS - I FEEL THAT IT'S A JOB WELL DONE - AND IT ALSO BRINGS BACK GREAT MEMORIES FROM THEIR DAY.
ON SATURDAY THAT I USED SOME IMAGES FROM THEIR WEDDING TO ILLUSTRATE THE FACT THAT I WAS ATTENDING THE WEDDING FAIR AT REDWORTH HALL ON SUNDAY.... AND THEN THIS TURNED UP IN THE POST TODAY!
 ".....From the time we first met Dirk at a wedding fair - his 11 year old daughter Ellie 'bribed' us with sweets to listen to him! - to the time that our CD of our images arrived, he has been a pleasure and a joy to work with.
The pre-wedding shoot helped to put us both at our ease with him and his cameras. Dirk listened carefully to our wishes for how we wanted the day to be covered and then helped us to refine the details. We asked him for a record of the day without the typical posed shots and a picture of as many of the people there as possible. On the day everything went brilliantly.
Dirk arrived early and spent some time taking pictures of the preparations. After the ceremony he mixed effortlessly with our guests shooting constantly yet never, ever, getting in the way. He took one 'organised' shot which included everyone, making sure that in the space of a couple minutes he had a selection of group pictures where everybody's face could be seen clearly. He had a long day, that lasted well into a fairly riotous evening, where he captured the atmosphere perfectly!
From nearly 300 final edited proof photographs Dirk helped us to select a representative number and when the wedding album arrived we were absolutely delighted with the quality of the book; the selection, quality and arrangement of the pictures; the story that is told and the fact that from all our guests there was only one who did not have an individual portrait included.
If you are thinking of using Dirk for your wedding photography, from our experience, you could not wish for a better result, or a more genial man with whom to deal......"

I first met with Kerry at a Wedding Fair earlier this year, and despite the time-gap, I must have made a small impression as Kerry and fiancee Paul contacted me to come and see them at Tynemouth recently.
 So, on a Sunday afternoon down on the beach at Crusoe's Coffee shop, we had a chat over a HUGE cup of coffee, talked about their upcoming wedding and I showed a few of the beautuful A3 San Francisco wedding books.
 They're going to have a really chilled, family orientated wedding day, a lovely day that they both feel comfortable with in a lovely church with a wedding breakfast in an intimate restaurant and, later on, back down to the legendary Crusoe's for an evening on the beach......

TYNEMOUTH WEDDING - PORTRAIT SESSION WITH CHARLOTTE AND ALEX

Pre-wedding portrait sessions are an important part of the build up to me covering your great wedding day celebrations.

Our photography session is usually 6-12 months before your wedding, and it's a time for us to be able to bond a little and get a feel for each other and for you to have some great photographs taken!

It's often the second or third time we have met and it's always good to spend some more time together - so that when it comes to your wedding day we're not strangers to each other and you can worry about the best man's drinking problem or whether your mum's wedding hat will fly away in the wind .... you won't be worrying about me and whether I capture the atmosphere and fun of your wedding!

This week I had a great time photographing Charlotte and Alex at Tynemouth, it was a little late, and the sun never made an appearance (no change there then ...) but we had a wander about and had a laugh and a chat and took lots of photographs.

I hope you agree - they're a great looking couple and I'm so looking forward to their wedding in Tynemouth and then on to Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle for the reception and evening celebrations!

I travelled to Yarm in Cleveland for Rachel's wedding to Andrew - and what a great day it was too .....

Saturday was awful weather and Monday was pretty bad too, but luckily Sunday was pretty good so Rachel's big day went very well indeed.

I'll post a few images now and get back with some more a little later.....suffice to say that they despatched with normal convention in the evening music department and had a Bon Jovi tribute singer play out for the first dance .. and many more as soon as the girls kicked Andrew off the dance floor and let their hair down!

'Your Wedding - The Exhibition' at Gateshead International Stadium

I'm pleased to let you know that I'm participating in the 'Your Wedding' - The Exhibition' being held across two days this weekend at Gateshead International Stadium.

It's all a little bit last minute, but a window of opportunity to take part in this innaugural North East Wedding Fair / Show was too good to pass over.

So, if you are free on 15th / 16th March and you are still looking for a photographer, or a dress or a location or your favours - this is the place to check all these things out.

If we have met before, it will be great to chat again, and even if you have chosen another photographer for your big day, as ever, I will still be happy to advise on any aspect of your wedding day, after all, I've been part of more weddings than most people!

Victoria and Jaeger's Wedding at Topcliffe and The Crab and Lobster / Crab Manor

I love photographing weddings in Winter as much as Summer, and in past years I've probably covered as many in each season, and been lucky enough to have snow on demand a few times too!

I travelled to Victoria and Jaeger's wonderful wedding at Topcliffe Church and reception at Crab Manor (Crab and Lobster) at Asenby, North Yorkshire. The wedding was brought forward from March so that more relatives and friends could travel from Italy and Sweden (and London!), and originally it was supposed to be in Rome ......

It was a bright (at times) and crisp February day and very windy and cold at times, but I worked quickly inside and outside so that everyone stayed as warm as possible and I managed to create some nice images in the daylight time we had.

Like all brides, Victoria was worried initially about her photographs, but after a couple of meetings in August and chatting on the phone and by text until Christmas we met up for a pre-wedding shoot during the festive season to bond a little - and for me to finally meet with Jaeger.

Another meeting with Victoria when she travelled from her London base to her family home in Hartlepool a few days before the wedding pinned things down and she was then free to panic about everything else!

I met with Victoria and her mum about two hours before the ceremony when I was walking around Crab Manor and helped unload the car to their room so that they could get changed, and it wasn't long before the bridesmaids arrived too, while Jaeger and his family from Italy and his son from Sweden were chilling out in another room before preparing to head to the Angel Inn for a coffee and a beer or two.
