WEDDING FAIR - YOUR WEDDING AT GATESHEAD

I feel as though I'm still recovering after spending 14 hours standing at my booth at the 'Your Wedding - The Exhibition' at Gateshead International Stadium at the weekend.......

A big thanks to all of you who called in to say 'Hello', to all those couples who took the time to have a chat and listen to me for a couple of minutes, and to those of you who already had a photographer (groan..) not to worry, I hope you also have a great wedding day!!

'Your Wedding - The Exhibition' at Gateshead International Stadium

I'm pleased to let you know that I'm participating in the 'Your Wedding' - The Exhibition' being held across two days this weekend at Gateshead International Stadium.

It's all a little bit last minute, but a window of opportunity to take part in this innaugural North East Wedding Fair / Show was too good to pass over.

So, if you are free on 15th / 16th March and you are still looking for a photographer, or a dress or a location or your favours - this is the place to check all these things out.

If we have met before, it will be great to chat again, and even if you have chosen another photographer for your big day, as ever, I will still be happy to advise on any aspect of your wedding day, after all, I've been part of more weddings than most people!

Lucy and Richard's wedding at Matfen Hall Northumberland

I had a nice trip to Matfen Hall yesterday to meet with a prospective bride and groom (Hi to Jeremy and Kate!) and even though the day was overcast and grey Matfen Hall always shines. It's a beautiful north east wedding location and the stairs leading top the terace are always a good place to get a decent group shot.

I was meeting with a prospective bride and groom today at The Crab and Lobster, near Asenby, North Yorkshire, and it reminded me at the time of Kelsey's wedding there last Christmas.

She was the happiest bride I think I have photographed in many a year.... she was just beaming all day long!

The Crab and Lobster is a great location for a wedding, and over the years it has proved to be one of my favourite places to take photographs both inside and out!

We all had a long, hard, but enjoyable day at Nicola and Andrew's wedding. There was a lot of fun and laughter and she looked beautiful too (OK Andrew, you looked great as well....)

Laughing Bridesmaids at Hardwicke Hall are one of my most popular wedding photographs

One of my most popular wedding images was taken a few years ago at Hardwicke Hall near Heselden in County Durham.

It was taken (again) at David and Nicola's Wedding during the reception at Hardwicke Hall Manor Hotel on the main lawn in front of the big house.

It was a lovely day, really chilled out and the young bridesmaid were lost in their own little world ............ sweet!

BEAUTIFUL BRIDEMAIDS AND PAGE BOY AT NICOLA AND DAVID'S WEDDING

I was ploughing through some images from recent weddings today for a new video slideshow I'm putting together for my website, on Google Video, YouTube and MySpace.

I had a good response from the last one and potential brides and grooms seemed to appreciate the opportunity to get a feel for my work as a wedding photographer with a certain style and personal attention.

This is one of the photographs I had overlooked last time and now it really catches my eye.

I'm not sure if it works better as a colour image or as a black and white photograph, but I do like it a lot. It was taken at Nicola and David's Wedding at St Mary Magdeline Church at Hart Village on the outskirts of Hartlepool - a really picturesque Saxon church with a sense of history and purpose, and a great favourite with brides in the area.

The bridesmaids and page boy were delightful and we made some great photographs later in the day at the reception at Hardwick Hall at Heselden Village.

WEDDING ON BOARD HMS TRINCOMALEE AT HARTLEPOOL HISTORIC QUAY

I was so looking forward to Derek and Sue's small, intimate family wedding on board HMS Trincomalee at Hartlepool Historic Quay - and it was a real pleasure.

HMS Trincomalee was brought to Hartlepool in 1987 for refurbishment as the 2nd oldest warship afloat.
 In 1997 after 10 years of hard work by the craftsmen who renovated HMS Warrior in Hartlepool before it was 'loaned' to Portsmouth, it became the centre-piece of the new tourism heart of Hartlerpool, the Historic Quay.

So, now you can get married on board in the Captain's Cabin and have your reception in the Baltic Rooms on the Quayside with fantastic food.

Sue and Derek's reception was for just 18 people so, for the FIRST TIME EVER, a wedding reception was held IN the Captain's Cabin.... Under 25 guests? Coverage from £750.00 midweek on HMS Trincomalee - 2nd weddings a speciality!

Afterwards, after a magnificent meal, we 'retired' to the Baltic function room on the Quayside where more than 70 guests enjoyed the evening festivities ...... as I photographed the fun.
